Janice Mehlman - Realidades Construidas
“With a series of photographs of various formats, this exhibition offers the viewer the opportunity to relate to the unique vision of Mehlman. Her most recent work is formed from the discarded edges of pictorial experiments made by a friend, resulting in a series of compositions that demonstrate the skill of Mehlman to produce beauty, admiration and strength from objects that seem useless and imperceptible to others.”

Abren en Bogotá exposición fotográfica de Janice Mehlman
“In this exhibition Mehlman has the capacity to transform insignificant objects and spaces into surprising images, finding beauty in the most modest places. For more than 30 years the particular vision of Mehlman has played with the unnoticed effect that light and shadow have on elements such as architecture, paper, metal and glass.”

Las 'Realidades construidas' de Janice Mehlman llegan al MamBo
”Artist Janice Mehlman loves to manipulate objects to achieve 'Built Realities', as her exhibition of photographs is titled in the Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá. Among the materials used are torn paper, photos that become input for new works, and even a metal wastebasket. She throws them in her studio in New York or Italy and starts painting with light; that is, to take pictures. "Everything is about light," says Mehlman, who has accumulated a career of three decades.”
